Social media can get a bad wrap.

But at times like this, it’s those little nuggets of gold you find while scrolling YouTube in bed at night or Facebook when you first wake up that can rid you of woe and make you glow. Here are my top 10 coronavirus song parodies to help put a smile on your dial in these testing times.

10. Stayin inside

That famous Barry Gibb falsetto gets a workout. Dad will be pleased I wove some Bee Gees into the countdown.

9. We didn’t spread the virus

One of Billy Joel’s best-known songs gets the COVID-19 treatment, and boy is it catchy. I was meant to see Billy at Madison Square Garden in a few weeks … #salty

This take on Adele’s blockbuster hit “Hello” hits you right in those stir-crazy feels. Pub when this is all over, anyone?

7. Disney Characters In Quarantine

6. Torn parody

This utterly hilarious rendition of Natalie Imbruglia’s Torn by Kathy Mak, an actor and dancer from Hong Kong, hits all the right comedic notes. If anyone has any suggestions on how to stop touching your face, hit me up.

5. Oh, Come on, Eileen

Unfortunately once you replace the lyrics “Come on Eileen” from the classic Dexys Midnight Runners song with “COVID-19” you will have this song stuck in your head for weeks. Believe me. It’s infectious, but don’t social distance yourself from it, soak it in.

4. Hands, washing hands

Neil Diamond. Sweet Caroline. A slight adaptation for the times we find ourselves in. Say no more.

3. One Day More … in iso

This large-scale lip synched version of Les Misérables’ One Day More is equally as grand as it is funny. It features 22 people, but keep an eye out for old mate using his elbows to wash up. Impressive stuff.

2. Family’s lockdown version of One Day More

Separating the One Day More parodies was tough, but a young family from Kent in England’s southeast combined the popular tune with some of the most common complaints during lockdown to create a funny and heartwarming parody of the Les Misérables classic.

1. The Broadway Coronavirus Medley

Simply fantastic. Five minutes of Broadway tunes with coronavirus lyrics. What more could you want, really?!
