Wyndham schools promised huge windfall under Labor government
Public schools in fast-growing Wyndham have been promised a huge cash splash if Labor wins government next month. Here’s what your child’s school will get.

Public schools in Wyndham will share in more than $31 million of funding under a federal Labor plan to bolster education in the west.
Lalor federal Labor MP Joanne Ryan told the Wyndham Leader the money could mean more one-on-one attention for students, extra teachers or access to better resources.

Ms Ryan, a former teacher and principal, said is was important schools were left in control of how the money was spent.
“I am confident our principals know how that money should be spent to best serve the needs of the community,” she said.
“I know from experience this will make an enormous difference to the kids, parents and school staff.”
The boost is part of the opposition’s $14 billion Fair Go For Schools plan.

Ms Ryan said several schools were too new or still being built for funding commitments to be finalised but they would “definitely get money” under a Labor government.
“The extra investment will transform public schools across Lalor and give all children the opportunity to reach their full potential, no matter where they live or how much their parents earn,” she said.
