Huge inflatable dogs will descend on Werribee next month as Wyndham Park is transformed into a “glowing wonderland”.
The free immersive event, titled LIT, will see the park outfitted with light-based exhibits from Melbourne artists over a 10-day period with visual and auditory effects.
Wyndham mayor Peter Maynard said the program was designed to provide a “magical experience” for visitors of all ages.
“Wyndham Park will be transformed each night with trees drenched in colour, glowing native creatures and other illuminated works that celebrate the natural beauty of this parkland,” he said.
Featured among the exhibits will be the Victorian premiere of Lost Dogs’ Dosco by ENNES, which will see colourful dogs up to 5.5m barking and howling at visitors.
Another exhibit, Lantasia by The Lanternist, will showcase a trail of animal sculptures, an immersive glow wall and a projection titled the ‘Bridge of Dreams’.
Wyndham’s Creative City portfolio holder Cr Marcel Mahfoud said the experience would be open from 8pm to 11pm every night from February 25 to March 6.
“LIT is designed to enjoy at your own pace, with the relaxed outdoor setting of Wyndham Park providing plenty of space to take in the playful, illuminated works,” he said.
