Wyndham crime: Children accused stealing cars from gym carparks
Two 12-year-old boys are among a group of children accused of lurking inside gym locker rooms in Melbourne’s west to steal car keys and vehicles.

Two 12-year-old boys are among a pack of nine youths arrested over a spate of recent burglaries and thefts at gyms across Wyndham.
It is alleged the group pilfered keys from gym locker rooms and used them to steal vehicles from the carpark on at least five separate occasions since the start of the.
The alleged incidents took place at gyms on Tom Roberts Pde, Point Cook, Synnot St in Tarneit, Point Cook Rd, Point Cook, Ballan Rd, Manor Lakes, and Overton Rd in Williams Landing between January 25 and March 23.
The children and teens were arrested on March 24 after police were called to a gym on Derrimut Rd, Tarneit, following reports of a group of males acting suspiciously in the locker area at about 1.35am.
Officers found three boys, two aged 12 and one aged 14, near the gym with allegedly stolen car keys in the possession.
The boys were arrested.
Six other teens, aged between 14 and 17, have also since been arrested in relation to the incidents.
All nine have been charged with burglary and theft-related offences.
Seven of the group have been bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date, while a 15-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy have been remanded in custody until their court date.
The investigation into the series of thefts remains active and ongoing.
