Reports of multiple gunshots in Melbourne’s western suburbs overnight prompted a police search as investigators declared a crime scene and cordoned off at least one street.
Emergency services were called to Reid St, Ardeer near Ballarat Rd about 11pm Thursday after reports of multiple gunshots in the area.
Investigators were made aware of the potential incident and a crime scene was established before midnight.
There were no reported injuries as of Friday 1.30pm.
At least five investigators remained at the scene on Friday afternoon as police scoured the scene for potential evidence.
Police were unable to provide further comment as detectives were still investigating the circumstances of the incident.
