A “pop-up” store has been shuttered in Melbourne’s west with two men arrested for allegedly selling stolen baby formula.
The men, both aged in their 30s, were arrested on Sunday evening outside the Keilor Plains Railway Station in St Albans after they were allegedly attempting to sell items out of a car boot.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said investigators believed the pair were selling items including toothbrushes and tins of baby formula to people passing by.
She said no charges had been laid but both men were expected to face alleged offences including handling stolen goods on summons at a later date.
“Transit Police close (a) pop-up store of dental and baby products at Keilor Plains Railway Station,” Brimbank police wrote on social media.
“These two entrepreneurs will be explaining their business model to the magistrate.”
