A popular festival in Melbourne’s west has got even bigger, with organisers blown away by this year’s record breaking attendance.
The Wyndham LIT festival reprised its marquee slot on the local events calendar in style, with 61,722 people strolling through the parade of light and laser shows.
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Susan McIntyre said that the community response to event was remarkable.
“In its second year, we’ve seen attendance more than double and just as importantly we’ve also received terrific feedback from residents and visitors about the experience,” she said.
“It’s been wonderful to see so many people enjoying LIT, telling their friends and family and sharing their experience online.
“We’ve seen a real sense of pride in our city and in the quality of events we have here are coming through in that feedback.”
“LIT was designed to support our hospitality sector and late-night economy and the streets have been buzzing. It’s been great to see thousands of people making a night of it with dinner at our local restaurants, takeaways, pubs and bars”.
