A new 86-apartment hotel is set to open in Melbourne’s booming west next week, with developers saying the location provides guests maximum appeal for work and play.

When Quest Watergardens opens on Monday April 17 it will be the latest addition to the Taylors Lakes precinct that is servicing the growing population in Melbourne’s west, situated 27km from the CBD.

The five level hotel will provide a range of options including studio, one, two, and three bedroom apartments with fully equipped kitchens.

According to Quest Apartments, part of The Ascott Limited group, the location and availability of both carparking and conference facilities maintains its commitment to making guest stays “effortless”.

The Ascott Limited Australia’s general manager James Shields said the site had maximum appeal for both corporate and leisure travellers and capitalised on the City of Brimbank’s growing importance as an industrial hub.

“Quest Watergardens provides a conveniently located accommodation option for travellers in the beating heart of Melbourne’s northwest, just 20 minutes from Melbourne Airport and adjacent to the bustling Watergardens precinct,” Mr Shields said.

According to demographic specialists, .id Consulting, the Brimbank area is forecast to increase by almost 34,000 (17.24 per cent) by 2046.

Franchise owner Gazal Kamali said she was excited to welcome her new guests from Monday.

“I was impressed by Quest’s resilience throughout the pandemic and respected how quickly they adapted to changing guest needs and how they continue to evolve their offering,” Ms Kamali said.

“Whether travelling for business or leisure, we give guests the space they need to relax and enjoy the local retail, hospitality and entertainment options right on their doorstep at Watergardens Marketplace,” she said.

After the initial announcement in early 2021, construction was expected to get underway by November of that year.

A Quest spokesman said construction was delayed due to the pandemic’s impact on the building industry.
