A Point Cook man has been given a stern warning by a magistrate after he was found to be storing guns under his bed.
Registered firearms owner Nicholas Anthony Revell fronted court yesterday after a routine inspection revealed he had breached conditions of his licence by failing to store the weapons safely or notify authorities of a change of address.

When police turned up at Mr Revell’s home, they found three guns stored under his bed.
The recreational hunter said he had recently moved house and had just “kept putting off” installing a gun safe at his new place.
He told the court he had been “flat out at work” and forgot all about it until the police showed up.
“I work nightshift, I know it’s not an excuse, but it was a busy time in my life and I kept putting it off and putting it off,” he said.
Magistrate Franz Holzer said part of being a responsible gun owner was making sure they were secured.
“They need to be properly managed because in the wrong hands they can cause grief,” he said.
Mr Revell was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond and ordered to pay $500 to the court fund.
