Tributes are pouring in for a young Truganina dad who was killed when his car flipped several times in a horror crash in Mount Cottrell.

Truck driver Sukhdeep Singh, 34, a father of two young children, was killed when the car he was driving left Doherty’s Rd just after 4pm Sunday, rolling several times before coming to rest in a paddock near Sewells Rd.

He died at the scene.

Mr Singh’s wife and children and a male friend were all inside the car when the crash happened but thankfully survived.

His family were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while the male passenger was taken to hospital in a critical condition but has since been released.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Mr Singh’s wife and family, and to help bring his parents from India to Melbourne.

Fundraiser organiser Sandip Patel said Mr Singh was a real “gentleman”, and there had been an outpouring of support for his family following the crash, with more than $40,000 raised.

“He was an extremely good gentleman; I have rarely seen anyone like that,” he said.

“He was the sole bread winner and just wanted to look after his kids.

“I think people have shown their love and compassion for his family.”

He said it was “unimaginable” to think what Mr Singh’s wife was going through.

Writing on the fundraising page, he said Mr Singh’s family were “devastated, frightened and scared for their future” because they has lost the pillar of their house and sole bread winner.

“Sukh was full of happiness, sense of humour and willing to extend his hand for others. In a blink of an eye we’ve lost him which is hard to believe.

“He was the only child of his parents who’ve lost everything … and we aim to bring them here in Australia to give him a farewell he deserves by having his parents beside him.

“We want all community and friends to come forward and give with open hearts so the young family can survive without the mortgage stress and the never-ending bills. We all know that life is not easy, but a small gesture of kind words and donation will help the young family.”

The exact cause of the crash is being investigated.
