The terrifying moments leading up to an alleged armed home invasion in Melton West have been caught on CCTV.
A 21-year-old opened the door of the Chelmsford Way property when he heard a knock about 7.30pm on July 9.
When he opened the door he was allegedly set upon by three men, one of them armed with a gun, with all three forcing the 21-year-old back inside the house where he was allegedly assaulted by the trio.
The man suffered severe lacerations to his head and once the damage was done the three men returned to a 2004 white VY Holden Commodore with black rims and drove off.
The victim required staples to close the gashes on his head, and also suffered bruising to his body.
Melton crime investigation unit detectives are appealing for public assistance and have released images and CCTV of three males they wish to speak with and a vehicle in the hope someone may recognise them.
