‘Major setback’: Thieves ransack Hoppers Crossing Soccer clubrooms

Heartless thieves have robbed and ransacked a soccer team’s clubrooms in Melbourne’s west.

A group of thieves ransacked and damaged clubrooms at a soccer clubs in Melbourne’s west.

The offenders broke into the Hoppers Crossing Soccer Club facilities on Hogans Rd at 2.45am.

They grabbed I-pads, cash, drinks and damaged equipment.

Club president Andrew Elsbury said the break-in was a setback for the club.

“This is a setback for the club but I am sure that together anything will continue to be possible,” he said.

A Victoria police spokeswoman said police were investigating the burglary.

“Investigators believe once inside the premises the offenders stole cash, I-pads and stock from the canteen before leaving,” she said.

“The investigation is ongoing.”
