Two women were allegedly caught trailing a delivery man, with $10,000 worth of stolen goods uncovered at a Leopold address.

Police allegedly uncovered about $10,000 worth of clothing, jewellery and personal items, as well as $5000 in drugs, as they arrested two women over a string of mail and parcel thefts.

The Leopold women, aged 29 and 25, have been charged after mail and parcels were allegedly stolen across the Bellarine Peninsula over the past month.

After trying to execute a search warrant at a Lochlan Court address in Leopold on Saturday, but finding no one at home, police then spotted one of their target’s vehicles allegedly trailing a delivery van.

The car was intercepted in Ocean Grove, where allegedly stolen goods were found in the vehicle and the two women inside were arrested.

A search of the property on Lochlan Court allegedly uncovered $10,000 in clothing, jewellery and personal items, as well as about $5000 in methylamphetamine and GHB.

The women were both charged with theft, handling stolen goods, possessing the proceeds of crime and drug possession charges.

They’ve been bailed and will appear at Geelong Magistrates’ Court on December 21.
