A western suburbs man fronted Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on multiple charges including child stealing
A man who allegedly stole a car with a seven-year-old child in the back seat took the boy on a four-day crime spree.

A man who allegedly stole a car in the western suburbs ended up with an unwilling accomplice on a four-day crime spree.
Barnabas Muavaa, 28, has been charged with armed robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, child stealing and driving while disqualified after four days on the run in Melbourne’s west.
Mr Muavaa allegedly stole a Kia Sorento in Altona on October 6, 2023 with a seven-year-old child sitting inside.
Two days later, on October 8, 2023, Mr Muavaa allegedly stole another vehicle and robbed two different fast food restaurants.
Mr Muavaa made no application for bail, and will be remanded in custody.
He will next face court on 12 January, 2024.
