Teens fined from parties in breach of Covid restrictions in Warrnambool
Partygoers in Warrnambool have been slapped with more than $20,000 in fines for breaching Covid lockdown rules.

More than $21,000 in fines were dished out to partygoers for breaching Covid lockdown from two separate incidents in Warrnambool.
Sergeant Leigh Wheatley, from Warrnambool police, said 10 people were issued $1817 fines from one party in Warrnambool on Friday night, while two offenders were fined from a gathering at another address on the same night.
Sgt Wheatley said the offenders were aged in their late teens.
“There were more than that there (at the parties) but they took off after police attended,” he said.
Police have not ruled out fining the owners of the houses fines up to $5500 for holding gatherings in contravention of the Chief Health Officer’s orders.
Sgt Wheatley said Warrnambool police would use patrols to focus on ensuring people from Melbourne which remain in lockdown do not travel to the region.
People face fines up to $5452 for travelling to regional Victoria from Melbourne during the lockdown.
