Run Home: We analyse and predict the final matches in the Hampden Football Netball League

The final month is here for the Hampden Football Netball League and we predict the run home for each club

It will be a historic few weeks for a few clubs as the Hampden Football Netball League closes in on finals.

There are four rounds left in the season with plenty to play for in the finals race.

We’ve dusted off the crystal ball to predict what will happen in the final few weeks and where everyone will finish.

Koroit (13-0-1, 300.66%)

Last four: Camperdown (A), Port Fairy (H), PFNCC (A), Warrnambool (A)

The minor premiership is in sight for Koroit but it might not be until the final round where it happens.

The Saints are only one game clear of South Warrnambool but do have a significant percentage advantage.

The biggest challenge in the final rounds looks to be PFNCC in the second to last round.

But Koroit’s form would suggest it has what it takes to finish the year with four more wins, and 17 overall for the season.

Predicted: WWWW

South Warrnambool (12-0-2, 214.68%)

Last four: Hamilton Kangaroos (A), North Warrnambool (H), Terang Mortlake (A), PFNCC (H)

South Warrnambool can still win the minor premiership but it will require a slip up or two from Koroit.

The Roosters will also need to win their remaining games to stand a chance.

Home matches against finals aspirants North Warrnambool and PFNCC will provide perfect tests to their premiership credentials.

North Warrnambool did win their only clash earlier this year and are South’s main danger in their last few matches.

Predicted: WWWW

North Warrnambool (10-0-4, 248.15%)

Last four: Terang Mortlake (H), South Warrnambool (A), Cobden (H), Camperdown (A)

Should seal a top three spot with their run home in the final four weeks.

They take on two bottom four sides as well as facing a Cobden side in the final two weeks who will have little to play for.

South Warrnambool, in round 16, looms as the biggest test and this match-up could easily become a preview into week one of the finals.

Predicted: WLWW – 3rd

PFNCC (10-0-4, 134.03%)

Last four: Port Fairy (H), Terang Mortlake (A), Koroit (H), South Warrnambool (A)

This season will be historic for Portland regardless of how the final few rounds finish.

The team is in the finals for the first time since entering the Hampden Football Netball League in 2013.

The next two weeks should see the team seal fourth spot at a minimum.

Portland’s final two weeks against South Warrnambool and Koroit will determine if it can get a double chance.

If the Tigers win both then a top three finish could happen.

Predicted: WWLL – 4th

Warrnambool (7-0-7, 98.08%)

Last four: Cobden (H), Camperdown (H), Port Fairy (A), Koroit (H)

Warrnambool can wrap up a finals spot this weekend with a win over Cobden at home.

But even if the Blues lose, the next two matches against Camperdown and Port Fairy should provide the wins needed for finals.

Koroit at home looms as the perfect final test for the team as it prepares for an elimination final in the first round.

Predicted: WWWL – 5th

Cobden (5-0-9, 82.01%)

Last four: Warrnambool (A), Hamilton Kangaroos (H), North Warrnambool (A), Terang Mortlake (H)

The next three games should determine whether Cobden finish in either sixth or seventh with finals looking out of their reach.

The side needs to win its last four to be in finals contention and must win this weekend against Warrnambool.

But, considering the run of others in the finals race, it seems unlikely Cobden will make it.

The Bombers will be confident of winning at least half of the matches remaining.

Predicted: LLLW – 7th

Hamilton Kangaroos (5-0-9, 72.18%)

Last four: South Warrnambool (H), Cobden (A), Camperdown (H), Port Fairy (H)

The Kangaroos may have left their run too late to make a finals tilt.

The side should win their last two games, against bottom three opposition, and would favour themselves to beat Cobden in round 15.

Their run starts against top-two team South Warrnambool who won the corresponding fixture by 67 points in round six.

Predicted: LWWW – 6th

Camperdown (4-0-10, 66.11%)

Last four: Koroit (H), Warrnambool (A), Hamilton Kangaroos (A), North Warrnambool (H)

Camperdown is in their best form this season but do face finals rivals in the last few rounds.

The Magpies have won their past two after winning just two of their previous 12.

Now the team welcomes ladder leader Koroit this weekend.

The best chance of a win could come against the Hamilton Kangaroos with the team only losing by 11 points in their last contest.

It’s likely Camperdown will finish in the bottom three.

Predicted: LLLL – 8th

Terang Mortlake (4-0-10, 57.80%)

Last four: North Warrnambool (A), PFNCC (H), South Warrnambool (H), Cobden (A)

Terang Mortlake has the toughest run home, with all their matches against top six opposition.

The next three weeks sees them take on North Warrnambool, PFNCC and South Warrnambool who are all inside the top four.

A win seems unlikely with the team to finish in the bottom two.

Predicted: LLLL – 9th

Port Fairy (0-0-14, 27.61%)

Last four: PFNCC (A), Koroit (A), Warrnambool (H), Hamilton Kangaroos (A)

It’s going to be tough for Port Fairy to get a win to end their season.

Port Fairy has not won all season and currently has a losing streak of 22 matches, dating back to last year.

The next three contests are all against finals teams, including ladder leaders Koroit, which make it hard for the Seagulls to gain their first win.

The only chance sits against Hamilton Kangaroos who might have nothing to play for heading into the final round clash.

Predicted: LLLL – 10th
