Drik Drik: Man rushed to hospital after fuel can explosion

A man has been flown to hospital with upper and lower body injuries after a fuel can exploded in south west Victoria.

A man has been taken to hospital with upper body and leg injuries after a fuel can exploded in the state’s south west.

Emergency services received reports of an explosion in Harris Rd Drik Drik, 135 km west of Warrnambool, about 11.45am Monday.

After arriving at the scene, the Heywood CFA unit found a fuel can which had exploded.

An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics treated a man suffering from upper body and leg injuries.

The man is in a stable condition and is being flown to the Alfred hospital in Melbourne.

There was no fire on scene, and the incident was declared finished by 12.24pm.
