Three killed in Southbank, Narre Warren South, Mount Waverley in horror night on roads

Three men, including two motorcyclists and a driver in his 40s, have been killed in separate crashes in a horror night on Melbourne’s roads.

Two motorcyclists have died in separate crashes within four hours in a tragic night on Melbourne’s roads.

And a third person also died after a car crashed into a pole in the city’s east, while a fourth was also found dead in Melbourne’s northwest.

The first crash occurred in Southbank at 4.50pm on Friday when a male rider collided with a truck on the Kings Way on ramp of the Westgate Freeway.

The second crash occurred in Narre Warren South on Narre Warren-Cranbourne Rd about 8.30pm, and involved another male rider and a car.

Emergency services rushed to assist but both riders died at each scene.

Another fatal crash occurred less than three hours later in Mount Waverley, when a car crashed into a pole while travelling south on Huntingdale Rd about 11.10pm.

The male driver, believed to be in his 40s, died at the scene.

A fourth person was also found dead after becoming trapped under machinery in an incident at Oakland Junction about 12.30pm on Saturday, with police and paramedics attending.

The truck drivers involved in the Southbank and Narre Warren South crashes both stopped at the scenes and assisted police.

The identities of the two motorcyclists are yet to be confirmed.

The shocking night on the city’s roads has taken Victoria’s 2022 road toll to 140 deaths, 17 more than at the same time last year.
