We name every high achiever from the weekend’s local cricket action

A bowler from Melbourne’s southeast has followed in the footsteps of Scott Boland with crazy figures of 7-2. Check out all the centurions and five-wicket hauls from the weekend.

First it was Scott Boland for Australia, now it’s Pearcedale’s Chris Ainger.

He followed in the footsteps of cricket’s latest cult hero when he took 7-2 for against Delacombe including seven maidens from eight overs in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association’s Grade B1 on Saturday.

It was his first five-wicket haul since crossing from Moorooduc in the off-season.

Ainger took 7-22 while playing Grade A3 in season 2019-20 for Moorooduc.

The highest score of the weekend belonged to Gladstone Park’s Lahiru Rajapakse who scored 132 in the North West Metro Cricket Association’s Kyte Shield.

It was his second century of the season and sixth since joining the club.
