The Blues boast the best overall win-loss record with an incredible 22 wins and two losses.

The Panthers have the equal third most wins with Geelong in the tournament’s history. They scraped into finals by percentage in their first season with a 3-3 record. They then went on to win the next three games and took home the inaugural Slam title against Carlton. They will be looking to get back to that form this campaign.

ESSENDON

FRANKSTON PENINSULA

GEELONG

Overall record: 11-0-9

Finals record: 1-2

2018-19: 4-0-2 2019-20: 4-0-2 last season: 2-0-3

The Cats have been solid performers in the tournament with final appearances in two of the three seasons. They received a bit of luck in 2019-20 as they were the only team that completed a match and gathered a win in the last round before finals. It was a solid win over Melbourne in Geelong while all other games were washed out.

GREENVALE KANGAROOS

Overall record: 7-1-10

2018-19: 2-0-4 2019-20: 2-1-3 last season: 3-0-3

The Kangaroos have been solid performers in the competition since the start. If they can improve slightly from previous seasons, the Roos have the potential to make it to the finals for the first time in the tournament.

KINGSTON HAWTHORN

Overall record: 3-1-13

2018-19: 1-0-5 2019-20: 0-1-5 last season: 2-0-3

The Hawks are likely to improve from previous Super Slam campaigns having started the home-and-away season well. It will be interesting to see how far they take it compared to previous years.

MELBOURNE

Overall record: 8-1-8

2018-19: 3-0-3 2019-20: 2-1-3 last season: 3-0-2

Melbourne have never made it to a Super Slam final. They got close in the first season as they missed out on percentage in the old format which included a Stars and Renegades conference. Having started the Victorian Premier Cricket season 5-0, they are sure to be a force this campaign.

MELBOURNE UNIVERSITY

Overall record: 5-2-11

Finals record: 0-1

2018-19: 3-1-2 2019-20: 1-1-4 last season: 1-0-4

Uni made it into the finals in the inaugural Super Slam season where they fell 22 runs short in a run chase against the Cats. Since then they have managed just two wins but with a few Big Bash cricketers around and a solid start to the home-and-away season, they should bounce back this year.

Overall record: 8-2-9

Finals record: 1-1

2018-19: 3-0-3 2019-20: 3-2-1 last season: 1-0-4

The Dragons are sure to be a big improver in this year’s tournament after winning just one T20 last season. They are 5-0 to start the home-and-away season and they know how to make finals having done it before in 2019-20. Definitely a team to watch.

PRAHRAN

Finals record: 0-1

2018-19: 5-0-1 2019-20: 2-1-3 last season: 1-0-4

Finals record: 2-3

2018-19: 4-0-2 2019-20: 4-0-2 last season: 5-0-0

RINGWOOD

Overall record: 6-3-8

2018-19: 3-0-3 2019-20: 2-2-2 last season: 1-1-3

The Rams were hard done by in 2019-20 with two washouts halting them from a chance of two victories. But with three wins from five matches to start the Premier cricket season, they will be looking to bring that form into the Slam.

ST KILDA

Overall record: 15-1-6

Finals record: 2-3

2018-19: 5-0-1 2019-20: 3-1-2 last season: 5-0-0

The Saints have only lost three matches outside of finals and one of them came against Dandenong where they were surprisingly bowled out for 38 in a run chase of 198 in 2018-19. The Saints later faced them in the Stars conference final and narrowly fell short by 13 runs in the inaugural campaign. Then in 2019-20, the Saints made it to the finals again and lost to the Panthers by 10 runs. Last campaign, the Saints had their best yet, defeating the Swans and making it to the grand final against Carlton where they fell short by 11 runs. They will most likely be up there again this year.
