Geelong teen sensation Ollie Peake has been rewarded for a strong summer with a Victorian rookie contract, as St Kilda future star Harry Dixon has been elevated to a state contract.
Peake, 18, debuted in the Sheffield Shield and Big Bash League last season as he continued his rapid rise, with his rookie contract capping an exceptional 18 months..
A member of Victoria’s emerging players squad, Peake made a half century in his first Sheffied Shield innings against Western Australia in March, and was part of a blistering 84-run stand with big-hitter Jake Fraser-McGurk in his sole BBL game in January.
The South Barwon product also impressed for Victoria’s second XI side earlier this year.
Dixon, 20, made his domestic debut in all three formats in 2025, making two 50s in four Sheffield Shield matches and a half-century in the Dean Jones Trophy.
He also featured in three BBL games for the Melbourne Renegades.
Peake travelled to Sri Lanka with the Australian Test squad as a development player in February.
He joined Dixon in the U19 World Cup side in early 2024 as a 17-year-old and went on to produce cameo roles in the semi-final and final as Australia took out the trophy.
Peake also plundered two tons for Australia’s U19 team in their tour of India late last year and has starred for Geelong in Premier Cricket for several seasons.
