IT has only taken one round of the Men’s State League season for the region to record its first coaching casualty.

Corio Soccer Club has suddenly parted ways with senior coach Bobby Stojcevski, following the State League 1 outfit’s opening round 2-3 loss at the hands of FC Strathmore.

Former coach Ivan Biscan will assume the reins of the senior team in this Saturday’s Round 2 clash with Brimbank Stallions at the Club Italia Sporting Club.

It will be a baptism of fire for Biscan, with the promotion chasing Stallions destroying Whittlesea United 5-0 in last weekend’s season opener.

Unconfirmed rumours, circulating around the local football community this week, have suggested former Corio SC head coach Ante Didulica will take over the Hume Reserve club’s coaching mantle the following week.

The club was contacted by the Geelong Advertiser, but Corio SC president Mario Gregorio declined to make a comment.
