The Australian team will be lead by former under-19 international and Melbourne Renegades all-rounder Will Sheridan, while the internationals will be captained by former Sri Lanka Test player and reigning Senior Division best-and-fairest Kaushal Lokuarachchi.
Haig Fawkner skipper Amit Chaudhary has been named vice-captain of the World XI and said he couldn’t wait to mix it with his new teammates.
“Straight away I put my hand up, for such a great cause and the honour and challenge of playing with such great players,” Chaudhary said.
“The talent is amazing, to play with them and to pick their brains on how they got about it is an amazing opportunity. Especially for me, at 40 years of age, you’re not going to have many representative opportunities coming forward.”
Druids pair Leigh Wilson and Nathan Johnson will lead Australia’s attack, with both in the competition’s top-five wicket-takers.
Wilson will anchor the locals’ batting, along with Westmeadows skipper Tarek Moughanie and St Francis de Sales run machine Aaron Maynard.
The match will begin at 12pm.
