Southern league: Lynden Dunn appointed coach of Caulfield Bears
The former Melbourne and Collingwood player says he will bring “passion, purpose’’ to coaching after being appointed by a Southern league club.

Lynden Dunn says it’s something he’s always wanted to do.
The ex-AFL Demon and Magpie will embark on his senior coaching career after being appointed to the top job at Caulfield Bears in Division 2 of the Southern Football Netball League.
At 35, he will take the reins of a Bears outfit that played off in last season’s preliminary final, in which they lost to eventual premiers Chelsea Heights.
Dunn, who played for West Coburg in the Essendon District league last seaosn, will continue his playing career and will pull on the boots for the Bears.
“I am extremely excited with the opportunity the Caulfield Bears have given me in becoming the men’s senior coach for season 2023,’’ Dunn said.
“Although the role of senior coach is something new to me, it’s a path in my footballing journey I have always wanted to take.
“To be given the chance to live this at Caulfield in 2023 for the first time is something I will always remember and be grateful for.
“I look forward to bringing a fresh perspective that is filled with passion, purpose and excitement and that feeds through the entirety of our club in 2023 and beyond.’’
Incoming Caulfield Bears president Adam Ballard said: “We are really excited to see where he can take this group and we are confident that his leadership, knowledge and experience, not to mention playing ability, will stand us in good stead for 2023 and beyond.’’
Dunn played 198 games with Collingwood and Melbourne across 16 years in the AFL.
He was drafted by the Demons with pick No.15 in the 2004 draft and played 165 games for them.
Dunn joined the Pies at the end of the 2016 season and playing 33 games in the black and white.
