School Sport Australia prepares for national basketball titles

There will be a strong Victorian contingent at the School Sport Australia basketball titles starting tomorrow in Bendigo. See who will be in action.

Some of Victoria’s best basketballers are ready to compete on the national stage.

School Sport Victoria will enter six teams (two under 12 and four under 18) at the School Sport Australia basketball tournament set to be held in Bendigo from Saturday.

The first games of the week long competition will be played from Sunday.

The teams have been selected from more than 930 student registrations across Victoria.

The 12 and under boys received a total of 469 applications while 344 girls put their names forward for the competition.

“School Sport Victoria is thrilled that the School Sport Australia Championships are being held in 2022, which provide Victorian students the opportunity to represent Team Vic across 19 sports,” an SSV spokesperson said.

“The Team Vic representative program provides a development platform for Victorian students to challenge themselves against Australia’s best school aged athletes at School Sport Australia Championships.”

Four courts of action will be streamed across the competition with details available on the School Sport Australia website.
