Langwarrin has made two early signings for the 2022-23 season, securing Jackson Mockett from Pines and Mordialloc all-rounder Jakob Woinarski.
Mockett is fresh off a premiership with Pines and is a former Frankston Peninsula opening bowler who will add a sharp edge to Langy’s bowling.
The 25-year-old will also be an assistant coach.
“We are excited to have Mocko roaring down from one end in our pursuit to get back to winning premierships,” Langwarrin said.
Woinarski is a Turf 1 premiership player with Mordialloc and also played Second XI at St Kilda.
Described as a “super talent’’, he is a hard-hitting left-hander and wicket-taking medium pacer.
Langwarrin has been busy since the season finished. The Kangaroos appointed former St Kilda champion Adrian Jones as head coach a fortnight ago.
Red Hill has re-signed champion Simon Dart for season 2022-23 “and beyond”.
His goal is to play in a Provincial premiership with the Hillmen.
Dart, 44, has played 10 seasons with Red Hill, scoring 6531 runs, at 59.37, in all forms.
New Rosebud coach Nick Jewell has welcomed a key recruit, Ash Mills from Seaford Tigers.
A damaging middle order bat and medium pace bowler, Mills will add experience and match-winning capabilities to the Sharks.
Word is Rosebud will snare another key recruit in the coming weeks.
MPCA Peninsula premiers Pines has signed Frankston Peninsula premiership player Jesse Jewiss as it prepares to return to Provincial ranks.
The 18-year-old hard-hitting all-rounder was part of the Heat’s fourth XI grand final victory a few weeks ago.
His dad Jamie Jewiss has also joined Pines as a development coach.
Adeel Hussain has re-committed to Heatherhill after capturing 29 wickets at 13 and scoring 155 runs at 18 in his first season with the Hills.
Tyabb has appointed “rusted on” Yabbie Sam Holland-Burch as senior coach.
After starting last season as the club’s bowling coach, Holland-Burch took the coaching reigns at Christmas.
“A rusted on Tyabb person and the heartbeat of our 1st XI team, there is no better person to take our club forward,” Tyabb said.
Steve Harvey is Baxter Cricket Club’s new president.
