Kylie-Anne Edwards mourned, remembered for netball involvement

A local netball official from Melbourne’s west has been remembered for her generosity to the sporting community as someone who was always willing to put in and support.

Kylie-Anne Edwards has been remembered for her contribution to the local sporting community.

A local netball official from Melbourne’s west has been remembered for her generosity after her death.

Tributes have poured in for Kylie-Anne Edwards, 43, a well known part of the local sporting community in the Wyndham area after her death earlier this week.

Her countless volunteer commitments included being a teammate, coach, team manager and umpire.

“For those who knew Kylie, they’ll remember that she wasn’t someone who just showed up — she gave,” Point Cook Centrals Sporting Club said in a social media post.

“She gave her time, her energy, her kindness, and most of all, her heart.

“To so many of us in the extended netball community, Kylie was more than just a team manager, a junior coach, or a teammate — she was family.

“She had a special way of being exactly where she was needed. Whether it was stepping in to umpire at the last minute (right up until she no longer could), or comforting a young player after a tough game — she was there.

“We’ll miss seeing her courtside, cheering on her teammates, always making sure everyone had their favourite lollies — even bringing extras for the regular kids watching their mums play. It’s those little acts of love that meant so much.”

Kylie-Anne was also involved in the Hoppers Crossing Netball Association.

“Kylie was well known across the western region netball community and contributed through coaching, managing, umpiring and serving on our HCNA committee,” the association said in a social media post.
