Woman, 52, blows 0.247 after driving on wrong side of Nepean Highway, Mornington

A woman, 52, has blown almost five times over the legal alcohol limit after police pulled her over when they found her driving on the wrong side of the Nepean Highway in Mornington early this morning.

A woman, 52, has blown almost five times over the legal alcohol limit after police pulled her over when they found her driving on the wrong side of the Nepean Highway in Mornington early this morning.

Victoria Police Leading Senior Constable Adam West said local police were patrolling about 1.50am when they noticed a car coming towards them on the wrong side of the divided highway.

Sen-Constable West said they intercepted the car and gave the driver a preliminary breath test.

She then underwent an evidentiary breath test and returned a reading of 0.247, he said.

The woman’s licence was suspended and her car was impounded with towing costs of $1010.

She is expected to be charged on summons with drink-driving, dangerous driving and other traffic offences.
