An alleged teenage burglar has wound up in hospital courtesy of a police dog called Zeus after an alleged Black Rock crime spree went wrong.

An alleged teenage burglar from Melbourne’s south east has been left in hospital under police guard after he was bitten on the leg by a police dog during an alleged late night burglary.
The Victoria Police air wing and dog squad assisted in the search and arrest of two alleged teenage offenders after an aggravated burglary in Black Rock in the early hours of June 27.
Police allege a 16-year-old and an 18-year-old broke into a Seaview Crescent address about 1am
The duo allegedly swiped a handbag, cash, a phone and a set of keys, as well as a 2013 Mercedes-Benz-B-Class sedan.
Police pursued the pair in the luxury sedan through the southeastern suburbs, with the air wing assisting.
They eventually came to a stop in Ashburton, before the two males allegedly ran from the scene.
Police dog Zeus and his handler cornered the two alleged offenders at a block of apartments, where they were arrested.
The 18-year-old male from Shepparton is assisting police with their inquiries.
The 16-year-old male was bitten on the leg by Zeus during his arrest.
Following the bite, he was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and remains under police guard.
The vehicle and all the allegedly stolen property has been recovered.
