A bar-room brawling son of a footy star who didn’t pay his “soft serve” sentence for punching a drinker in the face has again faced court.
Mitchell Osborne, son of great goalkicker Richard Osborne, smacked a bloke in the eye as he waited to be served at the Sorrento Hotel in January 2018.
When he faced court on September 12 last year Mitchell Osborne was given a good behaviour bond for the reckless cause injury charge, with a condition he pay $500 to the court fund.

But the 23-year-old former soccer prodigy, who is currently unemployed, failed to stump up the cash.
Osborne – whose dad played 283 games for Fitzroy, Sydney, Footscray and Collingwood, booting 574 goals in the ‘80s and ‘90s – pleaded guilty to one charge of breaching a bond at Frankston Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard about 8.30pm on January 4 last year Osborne and the victim were queuing to buy drinks in the busy back bar of the Sorrento Hotel.
He said to the man “stop pushing me”, and he apologised, and they both continued to wait.
Three minutes later a friend joined the queue, which annoyed Osborne, and he punched the shocked man once to his left eye, resulting in a bruised and swollen face.
The victim was treated by bar staff and Osborne was ejected by security.
The court was told Osborne made no attempt to pay the $500 to the court fund, even though he was told he would be breaching the conditions of the bond if he didn’t cough up.
Osborne represented himself in court, saying he had been overwhelmed at the time of the original court proceedings and could happily pay today.
He said he had recently tried to pay over the phone but was advised he couldn’t, and was “really sorry for wasting the court’s time”.

Magistrate Dominic Lennon said that was too little, too late.
“You faced court on a charge of reckless cause injury, and you were given a soft serve sentence,” Mr Lennon said.
“You were very lucky to get a bond and you didn’t even do that (pay the court fund).
“You either turned a blind eye or chose not to pay.”
Osborne was convicted and fined $750.
