Officers were alerted to the pair driving a Holden Caprice allegedly with false number plates through Narre Warren.

In a brisk pursuit through the south eastern suburb, the two men evaded police before being pursued by the Air Wing down the Princes Highway at 1am on May 30.

The Air Wing followed the unregistered car through Narre Warren, Cranbourne and Tooradin, allegedly clocking the driver’s speed at 150km/h in a 100km/h zone.

The chase came to an end on Drouin-Korumburra Rd in Athlone an hour later, where a 21-year-old Pakenham man and a 31-year-old Long Gully man were arrested.

Police said the 21-year-old man, who was allegedly driving the car, was charged with riving dangerously while being pursued, driving at a dangerous speed, two counts of failure to stop, driving while disqualified, driving an unregistered vehicle, possession of a controlled weapon and being equipped to steal.

The Pakenham man will appear at Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on June 6.
