A drug search warrant has uncovered an alleged clandestine lab in a Dromana back yard.

Southern Metro Division four Divisional Response Unit investigators said they found the alleged lab in Iris Street on Thursday morning.

Sergeant Brenden Williams said officers made the discovery in the rear yard of the property about 11am.

“The alleged set up was close to neighbouring houses and like all clandestine labs had the potential to be volatile and extremely dangerous,” Sergeant Williams said.

“Victoria Police is committed to removing clandestine labs from the community and prosecuting those responsible.”

Sergeant Williams said a small quantity of a substance alleged to be cannabis and cash was also found at the property.

Clandestine Laboratory Squad detectives spent at least two hours on site and removed several bags of evidence.

A 27-year-old Dromana man and a 37-year-old Dromana woman were arrested at the scene.

The investigation is continuing.
