A young man killed in a shocking crash is being remembered as a “goofy comedian” who was “impossible not to love”.
Tim Allen, 28, died on Friday night after his motorbike collided with a car at the intersection of Wilsons Road and Orchid Ave in Mornington about 8.50pm on Friday.
Cousin Brooke Skerry said the loss had shattered Mr Allen’s small, tight knit family.
“He was our rock,” Ms Skerry said.
“Everyone loved him. It was impossible not to.
“He was always doing goofy things to make people laugh.”
Ms Skerry said Tim’s mother Darleen Van Duinen, his brothers Trent and Jai and cousins Tyler, Michael, Madison, Rikki-Maree were devastated by his death.
“He was really close to my Dad Robert Kerry as well. He saw his as a father figure,” she said.
The loss of Tim came just weeks after the family buried their “monarch”, grandmother Diana Lupton.
“We’ve only just buried our Nan on July 20, who we lost suddenly,” Ms Skerry said.
“Losing Tim as well is unbearable. The only thing we can say is that he is back with Nan now. He was so close to her, he lived with her and was her carer.”
A chippie by trade, Mr Allen was best known for his love of music and passion for working on cars and motorbikes.
“He was a really talented rapper,” Ms Skerry said.
She said the death of her “baby cousin” was being felt across the Mornington Peninsula.
“He was really well known and so loved. People only had good energy for Tim.”
A power pole near the crash site has been covered in floral tributes and messages for the Mornington man.
“We can’t believe you are gone. So tragically and too soon. Fly high Tim,” one mourner wrote.
“May there be comfort in knowing that someone so special will not be forgotten,” said a note left by the Campbell family.
Others, including Mr Allen’s brother Jai, used a black sharpie left at the tribute site to write their messages directly onto the pole.
“I love you bro. I hope you’re in a better place,” Jai wrote.
“A beautiful soul, taken way too early,” another message read.
