Teenage boy tasered in the back walking home from school during attempted armed robbery in Frankston

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was struck with an electroshock weapon while walking home from school during an attempted armed robbery last month.

A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was tasered in the back while walking home from school during an attempted armed robbery last month.

His teenage attacker allegedly ran off laughing with two accomplices after causing a small burn on the boy’s back with the electroshock weapon on May 5.

The boy was in Wangarra Rd, Frankston after school when the trio approached, allegedly threatened him with the device and demanded $10.

When he refused, the offender activated the taser and thrust it into the middle of the boy’s back, Frankston crime investigation unit detective Senior Constable Darren Paxton said.

He said the day before in Lindrum Rd, again as the boy was walking home from school, the same thug appeared from the front yard of a house brandishing a knife and demanded money.

“The victim continued on home and didn’t hand over any money,” Sen-Constable Paxton said.

He said it was a random attack and the two teens were not known to each other.

On Tuesday police raided a home, seizing an electroshock weapon, knives and a slingshot.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted armed robbery, assault with a weapon, possessing prohibited weapons and cannabis and recklessly causing injury.

He was bailed to face children’s court.
