The home of an illegal brothel that was shut down 17 years ago only to rebrand as an award-winning harem has hit the market, along with a million dollar price tag.
Located at 8 Yiannis Court in Springvale, Club 8 was crowned Australia’s best brothel in 2019, just 12 years after being shut down in a consumer affairs controversy.
Listed by Crab Tree Real Estate, the home of the brothel — run by EKKA Enterprises — is expected to sell for upwards of $2.25m.
The pleasure parlour first opened its doors in 1997 and in fewer than three decades has made an award-winning name for itself.
First named Mademoiselle's, the brothel was shut down in 2007 by consumer affairs after being busted for operating without a licence.
Stellios Constantopolous — the operator at the time — had taken over the business from his late brother and continued to operate it without a licence.
Constantopolous pleaded guilty in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court in 2007 and was fined without conviction, ordered to pay $8800.
Constantopolous had sold the business to Gerald Seah — the next operator — who was also found guilty of running Mademoiselles without a licence.
Seah was also fined without conviction and ordered to pay $12,000 in costs and fines.
Rising from the ashes of illegitimacy, Club 8 was crowned Australia’s best brothel in 2019 in the X Awards – Australian Adult Industry Awards for “an unmatched level of service and satisfaction”.
The bordello is set to call the Yiannis Crt property home for the next decade, with a $148,954 per year lease.
The 500sq m property has six professionally fitted rooms with showers included and three rooms with in-built spas.
