Springvale fast food arrest: Alleged teen car thieves arrested in drive-through
A group of teens in an allegedly stolen Mercedes have been arrested in dramatic scenes at a Springvale fast food restaurant, after quick-thinking police blocked their exit.

A group of teenage boys have been arrested after police nabbed them in an allegedly stolen Mercedes in the drive-through of a fast food restaurant in Springvale.
In dramatic scenes on Tuesday night, police worked to block the car in the drive-through, leaving no way for it to escape.
The driver allegedly reversed into a police car as he tried to flee, but police smashed the window of the Mercedes and the boys were arrested.
Police said detectives had been performing duties as part of their investigation into a recent series of aggravated burglaries in the southern and eastern suburbs when they saw the allegedly stolen Mercedes on the Princes Highway Doveton about 11.30pm.
The car had allegedly been stolen in an alleged aggravated burglary in Hawthorn on Tuesday morning and was allegedly at the scene of an armed robbery in Endeavour Hills about 9pm.
Detectives followed the car into the drive-through lane of a fast food outlet on Springvale Rd, Springvale, and were able to block off the entry and exit of the drive-through with police vehicles.
Officers told the occupants to get out of the car but the vehicle was allegedly reversed into a police vehicle causing minor damage.
Police then smashed a window of the Mercedes and the occupants were arrested.
Two 15-year-old boys, two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old boy are helping police with their inquiries.
