Kingston Hawthorn has suspended the two players found guilty of misconduct in the so-called Second XI Mankad match.

Sen Sathyajith has had his membership of the club revoked and his brother Nivin has been suspended “indefinitely’’.

The Sathyajiths appeared before the Victorian Premier Cricket tribunal over their behaviour in a game against Casey South Melbourne last month.

It ended with Sen running out a Swans batsman before he had delivered the ball.

It was the second “Mankad’’ of the innings.

The brothers were found guilty at the tribunal of misconduct. The Level 4 offences did not relate to the run-outs but to clashes with other players.

Sen was banned for 10 matches and directed to complete an education program.

Nivin was suspended for six matches.

Leader has seen on social media a copy of an email Kingston Hawthorn president Brett Sebire sent to Nivin Sathyajith.

In it Sebire said “events over preceding months have severely impacted on our club, our reputation and the good things we are trying to achieve’’.

He said the Hawks did not need “the negative press that we have copped over the last few months, through the inability of some to behave on and around the cricket field’’.

“Unfortunately you have been found guilty of a serious breach of the CV rules, with the outcome fairly lenient in terms of the charges laid. I am not taking sides and can only formalise my thinking on the evidence produced and the results incurred,’’ Sebire said.

“I will point out that it is never OK on the cricket field or in society to cross the line when it comes to personal insult, verbal assault or accusation.

“You should never let outside social interests and incidents enter the field, where the results of your actions may preclude you from doing something you love and enjoy.

“As a club we have spoken at length about your actions, the tribunal results and a position to move forward with. Your actions are in breach of our own code of conduct and our club rules, where consequences must be realised.’’

Sebire said the club had decided to suspend him indefinitely, but was prepared to discuss his future when he returned from a stint playing cricket in England.

He said that before considering his return Kingston Hawthorn would need to be “absolutely convinced’’ there would be no more incidents.

Contacted this morning, Sebire declined to comment, saying the issue had been dealt with by his club and the Premier Cricket tribunal and there was nothing more to add.
