Prendy has pulled up stumps.
Frankston Peninsula Cricket Club legendary president Dennis Prendergast signed off from a 26-year stint by removing the stumps from the pitch at Jubilee Park on Saturday afternoon.
He’d been the first person to tap them in when the club took its bow in District/Premier Cricket in October, 1993.

Prendergast was full of emotion as he gathered up the stumps to the applause of Frankston Peninsula’s First XI and club coach Keith Jansz.
His massive contribution to Frankston cricket spans 58 years, from his first game of cricket at 11 in Frankston’s under 16s, at what is now the Heat’s main ground, Butler Oval.
Tributes for popular Prendy flowed on Facebook.
Long-time FPCC member Bruce Wills wrote: “What a great leader and club person you have been Dennis. Well done on guiding the club over so many years. It has been an honour to grow up at this cricket club, play alongside you and be on the committee / board with you. All the best in your retirement.’’
Frankston Peninsula’s firsts finished the season with a loss to Geelong. Chasing 327, the Heat made 232, with skipper Dale Elmi making 70 not out.
