MPCA: Former My Kitchen Rules contestant takes five wickets in Balnarring’s T20 win
A former reality TV contestant and a Crib Point spinner known as “Burger” produced bowling brilliance in Round 2 of the MPCA T20 competition.

The wickets tumbled at a rapid rate in Round 2 of the Jack Peacock Cup T20 competition on Tuesday night.
Balnarring’s Mitch Skvor, who appeared on Channel 7’s My Kitchen Rules in 2016, produced a delicious spell of 5-15 off 3.4 overs to set up the Saints’ win over Tyabb.
Skvor grabbed the final five wickets as Tyabb crashed from 5-77 to 94 all out.
Balnarring’s Xavier Warmbrunn (30) and Brenton Taylor (29no) got the Saints home in the last over.
Crib Point tweaker Mark “Burger” Cairns demolished Pearcedale for 54, grabbing 5-17 off 3.4 overs in his first trip to the bowling tease this season.
The Magpies batted first and put up 7-136, with Liam Johnson cracking 37.
It wasn’t all the bowlers way, though, with batters firing in other games.
Delacombe Park batters Jonny Guthrie (76) and Nick Hammel (58) shared a 128-run second wicket partnership as the Parkers chased down Mt Martha’s 6-152 with seven wickets and seven balls to spare.
Delacombe Park is undefeated in the T20 comp.
Somerville continued its march to the T20 finals with a win over Baxter, opener Brenton Alp blasting 68.
There were also half centuries to Sorrento’s Corey Harris (57no), Carrum’s Jake D’Atri (55no), Carrum Downs’ Michael O’Driscoll (52no) and Pines’ Lai Leaunoa (52).
Teenage Red Hill all-rounder Jarrod Klauer took 4-27 in his side’s win over Main Ridge. Simon Dart peeled off 40 off 30 balls.
There was an interesting head-to-head battle at Belvedere Reserve where Gloucestershire T20 star Ian Cockbain faced up to former Melbourne footballer Mitch White in the Langwarrin versus Seaford Tigers game.
Cockbain blazed 24 off 19 balls for Langy before being trapped lbw by White, who took 1-11 off three overs for the Tigers. He later hit 23 with the bat, but Langwarrin won the game.
