Leigh Poholke smashed 65 off 47 balls to lift Sorrento to 9-220 against Langwarrin in the MPCA Provincial grand final at Mornington on Saturday.
The Sharks are chasing their first Provincial flag in 47 years, while Langwarrin is trying to go back-to-back.

Going in at 4-124, Poholke cracked three to the fence, and three over it — racing to 50 in 39 balls — to give the Sharks’ innings a shot of energy.
Langwarrin leg-spinner Matt Prosser (4-47 off 18 overs) took three of the first four wickets to fall.
Sorrento won the toss and sprung a surprise by sending in Bobby Parslow to open the batting. He’d batted at No. 10 for most of the season, going into the flag decider with a season aggregate of 36 runs.
But Parslow took on the challenge, batting determinedly for 81 minutes to make 13 off 57 balls and sharing a 48-run opening stand with Corey Harris (38 off 141).
Jedd Falck made 51 off 122 balls at No. 3 to give the Sorrento innings some starch.
Jake Wood, at No. 8, cracked 21 off 23.
The game resumes today.
In the Peninsula grand final, Main Ridge — looking to snap a 24-year premiership drought — was 9-204 off 74 overs against Baden Powell.
Daniel Polson (94) and Shaun Foster (62) played vital innings after the Cougars were 2-11. Rhys Elmi and Taylor Harrison took three wickets apiece for the Braves.
In the District grand final, Heatherhill opening bowler Jake Theobald took 6-33 off 25 overs to help dismiss Rosebud for 103 in 76 overs.
Theobald has had a brilliant season, taking a total of 48 wickets, including a bag of five in last week’s semi-final.
Rosebud’s top scorer was Pete Doughty with 49.
In the Sub-District grand final, Dromana captain Kierran Voelkl made 82 (with 10 fours and 2 sixes) in his side’s 166 against Tootgarook.
Corey DeBruyn (4-56 off 23.4 overs) and Todd Harnett (3-53 off 27) did the damage for the Frogs.
