Speeding, drink-driving Porsche-owning Rolex seller caught on Beach Rd, Brighton on way home to Elwood from Moorooduc winery
The Elwood Rolex seller wasn’t watching what he was drinking, nor clocking his speedo after downing a couple of tasters at a Moorooduc winery. Now he will be off the road for a long time.

A magistrate has slammed a Rolex-selling, Porsche-owning, speeding drink-driver as someone who believes he is “above the law”.
Michael Chylinski was caught speeding on Beach Rd in Brighton after downing two ‘tasters’ at a Moorooduc winery.
When cops pulled him up in his Porsche 911 for doing 82km/h in a 60km/h zone, he then blew .017.
Problem was he had a zero alcohol condition on his licence and should have had an interlock fitted because he had been banned in April last year — for drink-driving.
He had gotten his licence back in November, but that was on condition he didn’t drive after drinking any alcohol and had an interlock testing device fitted for three years.
The Elwood 28-year-old pleaded guilty to four traffic charges at Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
The court heard police were watching out for speeders on Beach Rd in Brighton at 6.20pm on March 30 this year.
Chylinski’s car clocked 82km/h in the 60km/h zone, and he was pulled over.
He told officers he thought he was doing the required 60km/h, and the excess speed must have been due to his “heavy foot”.
He said he thought “I could have an interlock fitted when I choose” and had only had a couple of tasting tipples that wouldn’t register in a breath test.
His defence lawyer told the court Chylinski had been driving back to Elwood to a birthday celebration after having a couple of tasting drinks at a Moorooduc winery.
He said he didn’t think he would register above zero, and that he didn’t believe “due to crossed wires” that he had to start the interlock program straight away.
His lawyer said Chylinski didn’t think he had a problem with alcohol, but had been dealing with a recent relationship break-up which was a stressful time for him.
Chylinski runs the Watch Collector Company after giving up a dentistry degree.
His lawyer said he “earns several thousand dollars a week” by selling Rolexes and other high-end watches and would now be getting an interlock fitted on his Porsche, which was currently parked up.
He also said Chylinski didn’t rely on his licence because he cycled or took the tram or light train to his workplace in the city, which was “therapeutic” for him.

Magistrate Jade Bott said there were many aggravating factors with his offending.
“Your actions on this occasion are viewed as you thinking you are above the law,” Ms Bott said.
“Do not drive while disqualified, or you will find yourself in jeopardy (of jail).”
Chylinski was convicted and fined $2000. He was also disqualified from driving for 14 months.
