A man has been charged but police are asking for help to solve more crimes, including a Moorabbin service station theft.

CASEY

BERWICK

A man has allegedly carjacked a woman by knifepoint in the carpark of a Berwick hospital. The man allegedly got into the passenger seat of a car parked near the hospital’s emergency department just after 5.30pm on October 23. He allegedly produced a knife and demanded the 55-year-old driver get out of the car. The woman attempted to grab the keys from the ignition but the man pushed her from the Mazda sedan. She fell to the ground, fracturing her shoulder. The 44-year-old was arrested the next day. He was charged with aggravated carjacking, recklessly cause serious injury and theft of motor car.

ENDEAVOUR HILLS

An Endeavour Hills school was burgled early on October 24. Investigators were called to the James Cook Drive school just after 5am and found a man inside the premises. The 34-year-old man also had outstanding warrants. A bag was found nearby containing a number of allegedly stolen items. The man was with charged with burglary, theft and five counts of theft from motor vehicle.

CLYDE NORTH

A industrious thief has stolen a hot water service from a Clyde North house under construction. It’s alleged the crook disconnected and swiped the service just after 11pm on July 19. Police have released an image of a man they wish the speak to in relation to the incident.

MERINDA PARK STATION

Several cars have been damaged at Merinda Park railway station’s carpark on October 18. Six vehicles were damaged by vandals. Damage included a broken windscreen (pictured above), slashed tyres and scratches to panels. Police believe the damage occurred during the late evening or early morning and are seeking any witnesses to the vandalism or suspicious loitering in the area. GREATER DANDENONG

DANDENONG

Dandenong Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team detectives are appealing for witnesses or footage following an alleged sexual assault in Dandenong on October 15. A 21-year-old Chadstone man has been charged with sexual assault, assault with intent to commit a sexual assault, sexual activity directed at another person, sexual exposure and commit indictable offence in a Cleeland St carpark about 1.20pm. A 22-year-old Hampton Park woman was not physically injured during the incident. Detectives are urging anyone who may have been in the carpark at the time, or driving in the area with dashcam footage, to come forward.

DANDENONG

A gangland murder victim was stalked by a hitman in a stolen orange ute before he died in a hail of bullets in Dandenong on March 13, according to police. The 51-year-old male victim was sitting in his Peugeot on Dawn Ave when he was shot repeatedly. Severely wounded, he desperately drove for his life but ploughed into a pole and died at the scene. Half an hour later, a solidly-built man was seen trying to set fire to an orange Ford Ranger in McMahens Rd, Bangholme, about 5km away. He was unable to finish the torching job because a witness disturbed him. Emergency services were called and the ute was towed away for forensic testing, detectives later concluding it was linked to the killing.

DANDENONG

Police have charged a man with drug and traffic offences after noticing a vehicle being driven erratically in Dandenong on October 23. Police pulled over the vehicle and searched a man about 7pm. The man was searched, with police allegedly finding cannabis and methylamphetamine. A Narre Warren 28-year-old man was charged with reckless conduct endangering serious injury, drive in a manner dangerous, possess methylamphetamine, possess cannabis and resist arrest. He was bailed to face Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on December 13. The arrest was part of Operation Tidal, an ongoing initiative focusing on providing a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia police service areas.

FRANKSTON

FRANKSTON

Detectives are investigating an attempted midday carjacking in Melbourne’s leafy south east. A Frankston man was arrested after he allegedly approached a black four-wheel-drive as it was stopped at the intersection of Station St and Dandenong Rd in Malvern just before 12.30pm on October 20. Critical Incident Response Team police pounced on a 32-year-old man at Malvern railway station a short time later. Investigators are appealing for witnesses to the incident or any drivers who may have dashcam footage in the area at the time to come forward.

CARRUM DOWNS

A massive blast caused a missile-like object to fly hundreds of metres over suburban Melbourne before carving through a family’s Carrum Downs home on August 28. Arson and explosives squad detectives are looking for those behind the potentially fatal launch in which a 57cm piece of metal tubing was propelled at extreme speed. It was fired from a reserve off Hillview Drive, maintaining a near vertical trajectory before crashing through roof tiles and the ceiling before coming to rest in a shower recess.

SEAFORD

A man bashed by two thugs with metal poles inside his Seaford home in front of his wife has been released from hospital. The 55-year-old victim got into scuffle with one of his attackers at the Seaford Hotel just hours before the brutal October 12 attack. The brutes somehow figured out where the man lived so they went to his home and bashed him. He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but has since been released. A 59-year-old Seaford man was harged with home invasion and assault related offences. A second man is still on the loose.

MORNINGTON PENINSULA

ROSEBUD

A pair suspected of several alleged crimes on the Peninsula has been arrested in Rosebud. Operation Night Eagle police collared the man and woman after they failed to stop for police about 5.30pm on October 23. They did a runner on foot but were caught soon after. A 23-year-old Yarraville man was charged with intentionally cause injury, arson, theft of motor vehicle, two counts of theft, possess cartridge ammunition without a license, possess a drug of dependence and fail to stop vehicle on police direction. A 29-year-old Yarraville woman was charged with intentionally cause injury and fail to stop vehicle on police direction.

MORNINGTON/SANDHURST

A high-powered handgun, a large quantity of cash and a commercial quantity of drugs were seized after police arrested two people in Seaford on October 23. Operation Night Eagle police spotted a “vehicle of interest” at a car wash near Klauer St and Frankston-Dandenong Rd about 11pm. A 30-year-old Mornington man and a 33-year-old Sandhurst woman were charged with traffick a commercial quantity of amphetamines, prohibited person possess a firearm and negligently deal with the proceeds of crime.

ROSEBUD

A brand-spanking smartphone has been stolen in Rosebud. The victim placed an ad to sell the phone via Facebook Marketplace page. The suspect met the victim on September 22. When the phone, still sealed in a box, was produced, the male suspect snatched it from the victim and ran to a white coloured Toyota Camry and drove off. A suspected crook as allegedly done over a Moorabbin service station on August 21. The man allegedly stole several items from the servo before he fled on a bicycle. Police are yet to identify the man but CCTV has captured an image of a person that may be able to assist police with their inquiries. Police are hopeful someone will recognise his “distinctive clothing”. Anyone with information is urged to contact police Constable Sue Garland on 9556 6565.

EDITHVALE

Two men were stabbed, two homes raided and multiple cars stolen and crashed during a wild 24-hour crime spree spanning more than 350km across Victoria. The carnage was allegedly carried out by sole 26-year-old man from Murtoa, in the state’s far northwest. After a terrifying rampage through Melbourne — which began on Friday night, October 18, and carried on through Edithvale into the early hours of Saturday morning — the man was eventually arrested in Gerang Gerung. He has been charged with aggravated carjacking, armed robbery, theft of motor car, intentionally cause injury, aggravated burglary and a number of traffic offences.

PARKDALE

Parkdale neighbours have helped police collar a car thief trying to flee from an accident on October 5. Several people rang triple-0 after the stolen car crashed into a tree on the Nepean Highway. Mordialloc police found the car in nearby Fifth Ave, Parkdale. The male driver jumped out of the car and ran, dropping multiple stolen items as he fled. Police took chase on foot, followed the trail of items and arrested the offender. Police recovered the stolen vehicle and found drugs, weapons, stolen number plates and dozens of stolen power tools. A Bentleigh man, 25, was charged with theft, drug possession, weapon possession, bail and driving offences.
