Scarlett Taylor: Cam Smith’s girlfriend allegedly attacked by Somers woman moments before fatal stabbing

A Somers woman allegedly assaulted the girlfriend of Cam Smith before he was fatally stabbed in Seaford, a court has heard.
Scarlett Taylor, 21, fronted the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court for a brief hearing on Friday following the shocking incident which rocked the community on November 25.
It’s believed Mr Smith was walking home with girlfriend Natasha Stroumos after getting pizza when they became involved in a verbal altercation with another group near Seaford train station.
Police allege Taylor unlawfully assaulted Ms Stroumos before 19-year-old Jack Ledlin — who was believed to be in a relationship with Taylor at the time — fatally stabbed Mr Smith in the heart with a glass bottle.
Frankston 18-year-old Liam Casley allegedly kicked Mr Smith as he lay dying, the Frankston Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday.
Casley remains in custody and faces affray and assault charges.
Ledlin, of Somers, was charged with murder and will remain in custody until his court appearance in March.
Taylor, who appeared via video link from the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, has been charged with unlawful assault, affray, commit indictable offence on bail and contravene bail.
She was prescribed seroquel and zoloft — medications used treat depression — in custody, the defence said.
Taylor did not make an application for bail and was remanded to return on March 25.
