A 33-year-old sex offender has failed to front court after he allegedly failed to tell police he had contact with children.
Phillip Anderson was set to front Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on June 14 to face four charges of failing to comply with his reporting obligations “without a reasonable excuse” as well as two driving while suspended charges.
Absent from court on Friday, Anderson’s legal team provided a medical report to Magistrate Jelena Popovic, requesting an adjournment for a consolidated plea.
The court heard Anderson had failed to appear in January, where a warrant for his arrest was issued.
In court documents obtained by the Herald Sun, Anderson allegedly failed to report to police on four occasions over six months between February 2021 and July 2021.
Ms Popovic granted the request for adjournment, allocating a 45 minute timeslot for the pending plea.
She ordered there to be no further adjournments.
Anderson will return to face the Dandenong Magistrates’ Court on September 16.
