A man who previously shouted over a magistrate when he refused to recognise the law has again been hauled before court over driving offences.
Joe Guidice fronted the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on April 29, facing one charge of failing to stop his car after police direction, driving while disqualified and one charge of speeding more than 35km/h over the limit.
In February, Mr Guidice spoke so loudly over the magistrate that the charges weren’t able to be read out to open court.
He told the court he “did not consent to the proceedings and that he “didn’t accept” the adjournment date offered.
On Monday appearing via videolink, Mr Guidice’s behaviour was a far cry from his previous courtroom conduct.
He indicated he would be pleading guilty but wanted to give the court an explanation for his offending.
Mr Guidice told the court when he was caught driving unlicensed that he had been waiting for another driving matter to be resolved in the County Court.
After further discussion with the prosecution Magistrate Luisa Bazzani adjourned Mr Guidice’s case for further mention.
He is set to appear in the Moorabbin Magistrates’ Court on May 30.
