A Bayside plumber accused of strangling a woman and using tracking devices to stalk another and has been refused bail for the second time.

Glenn Mison, 44, was deemed an unacceptable risk to the women if he was granted bail when he appeared in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Mr Mison — who ran Glenton Plumbing — has yet to plead to numerous charges including stalking, assault, and trafficking 1,4 Butanediol and methamphetamine

During a bail hearing, a police officer involved in the investigations told the court that Mr Mison has a fascination with tracking devices.

In mid December 2024, the officer said a woman found a tracking device concealed in her handbag. The device belonged to her and was normally attached to a cat’s collar.

“She had misplaced it weeks prior. She tried to sync it to her phone but couldn’t as it was synched to another device. She suspected the accused had placed it in her handbag,” the officer said.

On another occasion, it’s alleged she heard a beeping sound coming from her car and a couple of days later, she located a tracking device in the boot and removed it.

She allegedly located another tracking device in the storage compartment behind the driver’s seat, as well as one concealed in a pack of playing cards in her handbag.

The officer said a tablet police allegedly seized from Mr Mison contained an app called “Smart Things” which was linked to numerous tracking devices.

Mr Mison is also accused of strangling a woman on numerous occasions.

The court heard he was sentenced to a community corrections order in February but allegedly breached its conditions in March and was taken into custody.

Details of that order cannot be divulged due to legal reasons.

His application for bail in May was refused. On Tuesday, his lawyer Harrison Charles argued that Mr Mison has family support and that he could be bailed to a rehabilitation facility with strict conditions.

But Magistrate Angela Bolger said the charges relating to alleged stalking and placing tracking devices were serious and referred to a previous alleged breach of CCO that resulted in him being taken into custody.

“One of the best measures of future behaviour is past behaviour. There’s nothing about his situation that places him in an out of ordinary situation,” she ruled.

Mr Mison will be back in court on August 5.
