A suspicious fire has engulfed a Cranbourne business, completely destroying the shop.
It is understood the fire started inside a licensed shisha shop on Cameron St about 4.30am on Monday.
The interior of the Shimmers Bar & Lounge has been completely destroyed by the blaze.
Three glass exterior walls have been shattered with glass strewn around the building, and the front door also shattered.
Forensic investigators and arson chemists arrived on scene about 10am to investigate the cause of the blaze.
No one was inside the business at the time of the blaze.
An arson chemist attended the scene on Monday morning and police are treating the fire as suspicious.
A local cafe worker and fuel station attendant were in the area when the fire erupted.
They reported hearing a loud bang but did not see anyone near the shisha bar.
Petrol station employee Nikita said the fire could have been devastating as the petroleum pumps were less than 10m from the flames.
“They are just so close, and it is so lucky the pumps were completely unharmed,” she said.
“I am just happy no one was injured.”
The business, which stands just off the South Gippsland Highway, is next to a United petrol station and one small industrial building.
The fire did not spread to surrounding businesses.
The company’s website says that a “refresh” is in progress.
