CRACKDOWN ON VICTORIA’S MOST EVIL CRIMINALS

Southern Metro region police have had great success in hunting down their most wanted crooks since the Leader and Crime Stoppers joined forces last year.

Since October, 20 of 29 warrant evaders featured on the Leader front pages have been caught.

Acting Inspector Miro Majstorovic warned the public not to approach the crooks but to phone Crime Stoppers, local police or, in an emergency, 000.

He urged anyone who thought they had an outstanding warrant to hand themselves in to police.

“It’s in their interests to present themselves instead of us finding them,” he said.

“It’s looked upon favourably by the courts.”
