An outlaw bikie in gang colours rocked up to a Melbourne couple’s home and accused a man of bashing his mate and demanded he be paid $100,000 within a week, a court has heard.

Comanchero Nathan Corrin, 34, pleaded guilty in the County Court on Wednesday to a charge of blackmail and possessing a drug of dependence after he went to the house in July 2023 having just been released from jail after serving time for extortion and was on bail on two charges that are before the courts.

Corrin went to the victim’s house in a Harley Davidson on July 16, 2023 and introduced himself as “Boxer” before accusing him of bashing his mate.

A Melbourne man and his partner lived in fear for a week after Comanchero bikie Nathan Corrin demanded $100,000.

Corrin said the only way they could sort the matter out was for the victim to pay him $100,000 and gave him seven days to “think about it”.

“You know what our reputation is like,” he told the man. Corrin sent him a number of messages and called him following his demand for cash. He wrote “Don’t be a rude c--t. Acknowledge you getting my messages. I don’t care if you’re busy.”

A week later, he asked “What’s the go?” but the victim didn’t respond.

Prosecutor Odette Richwol said the victim, who was not known to Corrin, and his partner spoke about going to police but were intimidated by the fact that Corrin was a patched bikie.

Corrin was arrested at a friend’s place at Narre Warren on September 5 and police seized mobile phones and three vials of testosterone from him.

Judge Gavan Meredith questioned how realistic defence lawyer Mark Sturges’ submission was for Corrin to be given a combination sentence of jail and community corrections order.

His offending and prior convictions were concerning, the judge said.

“It’s really a matter for him whether he wants to continue down this path and continue associating with the Comanchero, or whether he wants to make a break with things.

“It’s clear that he was using his membership (with the Comanchero) to achieve his ends,” Judge Meredith said.

Corrin, who has two unrelated matters still before the court, will be sentenced at a date yet to be fixed.
