A Narre Warren concreter who was nabbed with meth, MDMA, cash and loaded shotgun following a covert police sting has avoided a further prison term.

Adam McCann, 28, was sentenced in the County Court on Monday to time served – 784 days – after pleading guilty to trafficking a commercial quantity of meth and trafficking MDMA.

McCann lobbed on the police radar after his dopey associate Samuel Jackson buddied up with an undercover cop.

Jackson and the cop became mates both sat in a holding cell at Carrum Downs police station in September 2017.

Jackson said he “would be happy” to supply the cop with meth once they were both out of custody.

Jackson also told the cop during their covertly recorded conversation that he lived in Frankston and it was cool for him to come to his house.

The cop visited Jackson’s home asking for a “ball” — street slang for 3.5g of meth — but was referred to McCann.

Jackson told the cop McCann would trust him because he “vouched” for him.

Jackson handed over McCann’s Wickr ‘blinky666’ account details and instructed the cop where to meet McCann and how to conduct the drug deal.

The cop then contacted McCann via Wickr.

“Hey bro it’s sammys mate he said you could do a ball for 850,” the cop said via text.

“I can do shortly coming from Frankston bro paperwork is ready”

“Where good for you?”

The pair met and conducted a successful drug deal at Keysborough South Shopping Centre.

McCann and his partner in crime, Tayla Moore, conducted another seven drug transactions with the undercover cop between September and December 2017.

The ever-increasing drug deals mainly occurred at Keysborough South Shopping Centre.

McCann also offered to sell the undercover cop ounces of MDMA for $2800.

A final mega meth deal went down at the Narre Warren Chemist Warehouse car park on Pound Rd on December 5 2017.

The undercover cop hopped into the McCann and Moore’s car and handed over $29,000 in return for 168 grams of meth.

Moore asked the cop if “he had a good place to hide the drugs” in his car “in case he was intercepted by police”.

Police kept communication with McCann open while keeping he and Moore under surveillance.

Investigators determined McCann stashed drugs at his house and a Dandenong storage facility.

Police raided McCann and Moore’s Narre Warren home on January 29, 2018 and seized more than 150 grams of meth and almost 50g of MDMA.

Police also seized a loaded sawn-off shotgun, shotgun shells, a handgun magazine containing seven rounds of ammo, four mobile phones, a money counter, and more than $15,000 cash.

The court was told McCann worked as a concreter and sought drug treatment after being bailed from custody in March last year.

Moore was sentenced in the County Court in December 2018 to time served – 174 days – and placed on a community corrections order after pleading guilty to trafficking meth.

Judge Scott Johns also handed McCann a community correction order.
